Comprehensive vs Limited Plans

Insurance for Visitors: Comprehensive vs Limited Plans

INF Visitor Insurance offers two types of Insurance for Visitors: Comprehensive Plans or Limited (Fixed Benefit) Plans:

Limited (Fixed Benefit) Plans

Key Features of Fixed Benefit Plans:
  • These plans are low cost
  • Provide limited benefits that are capped at a pre-determined maximum
  • Offer great coverage for small -to-mid-size emergencies ($2,000 - $20,000)
Additional Notes:
  • These plans will provide basic benefits & limited coverage
  • Although these plans cost less, you will be on the hook for a large medical bill due to the fixed benefit nature of these plans

Comprehensive Plans

Key Features of Comprehensive Plans:
  • These plans are higher cost
  • Offer better benefits & more coverage than fixed benefit plans
  • INF plans over 80% of all eligible medical expenses
Additional Notes:
  • These plans work with a PPO Network, which will accept the insurance and bill them directly reducing your out-of-pocket expense.
  • INF Elite covers all pre-existing conditions, in-patient, out-patient, and specialist care

Comprehensive Coverage Plan
Limited Coverage Plans
Coverage
These plans provide higher amount of benefits per incident and will provide greater financial security for your & your loved ones. We recommend individuals over the age of 50 & with pre-existing conditions to take these plans.
These plans offer a limited basic amount of benefits per incident. Although these plans are cheaper, they will not provide a high amount of coverage when you need it. We recommend these plans for individuals who are under the age of 50 & exhibit no pre-existing conditions.
Benefits
These plans work with PPO Networks. This gives your 3 distinct advantages: 1) The plan WILL be accepted by an In-Network Provider, 2) The health care provider will bill the insurance directly, reducing your out-of-pocket expense, 3) PPO Network will give discounted, pre-negotiated medical rates to patients
Basic coverage- this means the amount of benefits to be provided for each specific medical service is pre-determined. Medical expenses are paid as per the schedule of benefits listed in the policy's brochure.
Plan Acceptance
These plans will be accepted at any In-Network doctor or hospital. They can also be used at an out-of-network hospital, however, there will be a lower benefits rate (typically 60/40 instead of 80/20).
These plans will work at any doctor or hospital. That being said- you may run the risk of paying out-of-pocket because the health care provider will not accept the insurance.
